Will Butts
AGE 7
QUAD CONGENITAL AMPUTEE
MOTHER FRANCES HOSPITAL, Tyler, Texas
Will has Hanhart syndrome and was born without feet and with partially formed hands, but that doesn’t slow down this active and determined 7-year-old. Though he’s received medical care all his life, three and a half years ago his family moved to an area served by a special needs clinic funded by CMN Hospitals. “This clinic has made such an incredible difference for us,” Will’s mom Katie says. “It’s hard to even describe.” She is particularly grateful that the clinic has opened so many doors to experts from around the country; without referrals from the clinic, they wouldn’t have access to these leading specialists. If Will hits a roadblock, Katie is grateful to feel she’s not alone — she’s part of a team that feels like a family, and together they’re devoted to helping Will thrive.
